The effect of photobleaching on gene expression extraction from images
Repeated laser scanning of spotted microarrays
results in photobleaching where the image
deteriorates with each scanning and with increased
laser intensity. In order to extract as much
information from the microarray image as possible
the laser intensity should be set as high as possible
but not so high as risk image pixel saturation or
severe image quality loss
