Are organisms more sensitive to chemical stress when they freeze? And why?
All standard ecotoxicity tests are conducted at standard temperatures around 20ºC. This is, however, rarely the temperature outside. The question is to what degree the sensitivity of different organisms towards chemical stress is affected by temperature? And is this something that one should incorporate in the risk assessment of chemicals? If you wish to work with interactions between chemicals and environmental stress.
